Seventy-Three!
Christina's parents, Angelo and Emily, Christina and myself went out to lunch one day. My wife loves the kind of places where there's a view from where you're eating. Especially a view like a body of water. Anyway, we went to this place that had a back patio deck. As we were inside eating, I heard someone yell, "Seventy-three!" I look up, smile, and say to my wife, "What's that mean?" She says, "What's WHAT mean?" "Seventy-three. Why did he yell that?" My wife looked at me and told me she didn't hear anyone yell anything.
SEVENTY-THREE! I hear it again. "You didn't hear that?", I ask my wife. "No", she says. I ask my father in law, "Angelo, did you hear that?" "Hear what", he asks. "Seventy-three. Someone just yelled Seventy-three." "No", he says.
"Ma, did you hear it?"
"No."
I groan and say, "Allright. Whatever." I excuse myself and head to the restroom. As I'm in there, the Lord says to me, "Seventy-three."
"Lord, was that YOU?"
"Yes," He replies.
"Lord, that was the first time I heard you with my outer ear! What does Seventy-three mean anyway?" "You'll see", He said.
I go back to the table and tell my wife that the Lord was the one saying, "Seventy-three." Christina asked me what it meant and I told her that the Lord said, "You'll see".
Ok, so as we finish up eating and get the bill, Christina asked the waiter if the 4 of us could go out on the back patio deck, overlooking the water, to finish our wine. Since there was no one oput there, he allowed it. Upon entering the empty deck area, Christina's Dad, Angelo points and says, "What's that over there, a ball?"
"Where?", I ask.
"Over there, under that table", he says.
I walk over to the table, look under it and see, not a ball, but a wad of cash. I take the cash and give it to Christina. She starts counting, "Twenty, forty, sixty, seventy, one, two, three...SEVENTY THREE DOLLARS!"
3 twentys, 1 ten, and 3 singles. Seventy-three dollars, indeed! I say to Angelo, "I think God is trying to get your attention. I think this is for you! This experience is for you, I'm keeping the cash! Ahahahahahaha!!"
That happened years ago. Angelo STILL talks about it today.
Psalm 1:13 (NIV) - Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law, he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
