                                          Atlanta Bread
After Church one Sunday, a bunch of us went to Atlanta Bread for lunch. While standing in line trying to decide what I'm going to eat, the Lord says to me, "I want you to talk to David." Now, the funny thing is that there was someone with us named David. So, I said to the Lord, "Ok. I'll get my lunch and try and sit near David and I'll talk to him. About what, I don't know, but I'll talk to him." The Lord says again, "I want you to talk to David." I'm like, "All right Lord, I'll get my lunch and I'll talk to him. I'm going to his house after lunch anyway. I have all day to talk to him." Again I hear, "I want you to talk to David."  I turn my head and see a well dressed man sitting alone at a table typing away at his laptop. This guy was very sharp looking. The type of guy I would be a little intellectually intimadated by. I had the thought, "Is that David?" I start walking over to him with the thought, "What am I doing? What if this guy's name isn't David?"

I get to his table.  tic-tic-tic-tic

                                          "Um-Hi, David?,  I say.

Without missing a beat and with his eyes still glued to his laptop screen, he says, "Yep." tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic

Now, I'm a little perturbed. I mean, the guy doesn't even look up to see if he knows me. Just still tic-ing away on his keyboard.  tic-tic-tic-tic

"Uh, well, ok. Look, I don't know what you believe, but I believe the Holy Spirit has a word for you."
                                          I say to him.

Immediately, he lowers his laptop screen into sleep mode, looks up at me, leans forward and says, "What is it?"

A bit startled, I said, "Well, I don't really know. He told me to come over here and talk to you." He says, "You tell me you have a word from the Holy Spirit and you don't know what  it is?"

At that point, I wanted to say, "Look dude, with your friggin' laptop and your whole 'too cool for school' persona, I knew your name! Cut me some slack!" However, I didn't say that. I held my tongue. What I did do was listen for the Holy Spirit for a minute and let Him say this:

"You're meeting a man named Adam here in a little while. He's going to propose a business idea to you. Don't get involved. You'll lose a lot of money if you go forth in this endeavor because it's not going too work."

                                          That was the word.

                                          David says, "Is that it?"

                                          "Yeah. That's it."
                                          , I say.

"Thank you.", he says and returns to typing as quickly as he stopped.

I stand there for a second staring at him in disbelief. My experience with Christians and people in the world was always much more interactive. I mean, this guy was no-nonsense. All business. No, "Hey! Praise the Lord, brother! Where do you worship? This is the day that the Lord has made! WooHoo!" He just went back to what he was doing like this was the most normal thing in the world to him. Just daily life.

As I got back to my table, I had the thought that I was never going to see this guy ever again. I don't know why I had that thought, I just did.

About halfway through my lunch, David gets up and goes to leave. I yell out, "Take care, Dave!"

                                          "Bye, Frank!"
                                          , he says.

                                          He leaves.

                                          It occured to me later.

I never told him my name.

The next day. One of my pastors was coming over my house for a visit. I tell him the whole story and when I'm done telling it, I asked him what he thought.

"Frank, don't you know what that was?", he asks.

                                          "Huh? No. What?", I ask.

Frank, You were talking to an angel. That was an angel.", he said.

Hebrews 13:2 (NIV) - Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.
