The Pull Over

My truck
I was working for an international shipping company part time and had to be there at 4:00 in the morning. I left my home at around 3:10 and started my trip. As I got closer to my job, I looked in my rear view mirror and notice that there is a cop car behind me. Suddenly, every place there could be a light on this car, there was one. Spinning, flashing. I'm thinking, "Oh great. This is because of the headlight that's out. Ugh!"
The cop pulls me over.
This guy was no joke. Tall, built, (at least he looked built) boots, gun, badge, gloves, the whole thing. He approaches my truck, leans toward me and says, "Do you know why I pulled you over?"
"Headlight?", I ask.
He looks to the right, then to the left, and says, "Can you tell me why I pulled you over?"
I ask again, "Headlight?"
He then gives a little sigh and says to me, "I was in that parking lot praying when you passed by. The Lord told me to follow you because you're one of His prophets and that you had a message for me."
Woah. I grab his gloved hand and said, "Let's pray."We pray. We stop. God tells me to tell him the following; "Your brother is going to be fine. The bullet wound is not fatal."
I tell the cop this.
The cop smiles and says, with a quivering, almost-ready-to-cry voice, "Get that headlight fixed."
He gets into his car and zooms off.
One of my sisters in the Lord, explains it this way:
"That cop was trevailing, just crying out to God, for his brother in that parking lot. You drive by. God speaks to him. That cop stepped out on faith 3 times.
1. He asked you if you KNEW why he pulled you over. You said, 'Headlight?'
2. He steps out in faith again, and asks if you could TELL him why he pulled you over. You said again, 'Headlight?'
3. He steps out in faith, yet again, and spills it. 'The Lord told me to pull you over. You have a message for me.'
The risk that cop took in pulling you over. He didn't know if you were another cop, a non-believer, maybe even an internal affairs agent, who knows? That could've cost him his job, his pension. He may have gotten thrown off the force. The other thing is that you didn't know anything about his brother. His brother could've been a cop, too. Maybe he was a drug dealer, maybe he was an innocent bystander when he was shot. Who knows? Also, maybe this bullet wound is 5 years old and the bullet is lodged in his body where it's just now starting to produce complications, maybe he was shot last week and is in a coma. The point is that the message you gave him wasn't so much for the cop, (although I'm sure he was encouraged) it was for you, too!"
